Darwin Week Promotional Designs

I was very excited to be contacted a few weeks ago by the UNI Freethinkers and Inquirers. They were extremely happy with my Out Week posters from last year so they asked me to create the promotional materials for this year's Darwin Week with keynote speaker Lawrence Krauss. It didn't take me long to decide on some design concepts and I'm quite happy with the final results. Simplicity was key to me in this project. I wanted to create something eye-catching without using crazy fonts, drop shadows, bevels, and effects. Everything was done in Illustrator with vector shapes. In fact, the glasses were traced directly from a photo of Lawrence Krauss. One thing I experimented with was the use of QR Codes to send people to www.darwinweek.com straight from the poster. I will have to wait and see what kind of a response people have to them.
