Iceberg Frenzy... My first iOS game!
Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 10:12PM
Soon I will have my first published game! StencylWorks, the program I have been using to develop Laser Missile Bomb, released an update that allows you to export games as native iOS apps and I was really excited to start working on an iPad game. I tried adjusting LMB to work for a touch screen device and it just wasn't really working. At the time I was also in a bit of a level design rut also so I decided to work on a smaller, quicker project that I could design from the ground up for the iPad. The result is Iceberg Frenzy, a tilt-controlled score attack game. You have to tilt your penguin around an iceberg avoiding obstacles while you gobble up fish to build up your score before you are pushed over the edge. It's casual but pretty fast paced. I will be submitting it to the app store soon and when it is approved it will be available for free (supported by iAds) as an iPad only download. The design process has been a great learning experience and I can't wait to work on a larger project. For now I will be returning to work on the flash version of LMB with renewed vigor. As soon as Iceberg Frenzy is approved I will post a follow up. Thanks for your support and I hope you will all get to play my first published game soon!
