Tyler Owen - Game Designer / Graphic Artist / Programmer

I graduated magna cum laude in 2010 from the University of Dubuque with a B.S. in Computer Graphics and Interactive Media. Most of my days are spent in front of a glowing computer screen where I work on making games as part of my company, Random Seed Games. My recent releases include Protobotic, and the well-reviewed slow motion exploration game, TIMEframe.

I am currently working on the Mars exploration and survival game Lacuna Passage. The game was successfully funded on Kickstarter and approved through Steam Greenlight.

I have received many honors and awards including two Silver Addy Awards for "Excellence in Logo Design and Mixed Media Campaign", the Steven A. Wise Game Level Award two consecutive years, the CGIM Leadership Award, the University Service Award, the Dr. Thomas and Virginia Somerville Concert Choir Leadership Award two consecutive years, and the Ruth and Frank Netzel Web Award. I was a member of the Wendt Character Scholars program all four years of undergraduate and I am also a member of the Alpha Chi Honor Society.

Since graduation I have taught myself C# programming and that is now my primary specialization for game development.

I live in the wooded outskirts of Burlington, Iowa with my wife, Frances, and our dogs Peanut and Naga.
